Charlotte Szynskie Earns Participation in Expanding Horizons Exhibition at Loveland Museum
Loveland, CO – August 28, 2024 – Charlotte Szynskie has been accepted into the American Women Artists international exhibition Expanding Horizons. The exhibition opens on September 14, 2024, at the Loveland Museum at 503 North Lincoln Avenue, Loveland, Colorado, 80537. This juried show, which continues through November 10, 2024, features 126 paintings, sculptures, and original prints by members of the AWA. Charlotte Szynskie is highly recognized in her field of art and very skilled in figurative sculpture. Her artwork has passed a rigorous jury process to be included in this exhibition.
The 126 original artworks were juried from 755 entries by women artists across the United States and Canada. The exhibition is the eighth museum exhibition in the AWA program 25 in 25, a highly recognized program that will hold 25 museum exhibitions in 25 years.
Charlotte Szynskie is from Denver, Colorado. She began sculpting after retiring from her electrical engineering business in 2011. She studied with multiple internationally known sculpture teachers and engaged in extensive independent study of artistic human anatomy. She began showing her work in earnest in 2022. She has been in 15 juried shows, two galleries, and won two awards including “Best in Show” for the Loveland Library Art Galleria 2022. Multiple collectors have commissioned her for private works. She is a member of the National Sculpture Society, New York’s Salmagundi Club, and the American Women Artists.
This bronze sculpture is a commissioned work of art depicting the client’s granddaughter, who is a model. The pose of her donning a parachute dress was inspired from a photograph of the model modeling in Times Square, New York. She was associated with the Parachute Goddess modeling program, hence the name “Parachute Goddess”.
“American Women Artists is thrilled to partner with the Loveland Museum to bring the works of AWA members to this exceptional exhibition space in this beautiful art-engaged community,” said Karen Vernon, Executive Director for AWA. “With its collection of exceptional sculptures and other artistic works throughout the city, Loveland inspires all, especially artists and art lovers.”
In addition to the exhibit, AWA hosts its annual symposium on Saturday, September 14, which will be attended by artists, art scholars, collectors, and enthusiasts. This year’s keynote speaker is sculptor and Colorado Woman of the Year Jane DeDecker. The topic is Turning Down the Noise: How to Find Your Unique Place in the Arts. DeDecker’s work has garnered national acclaim through her ability to capture the essence of human interaction through her sculpture, particularly her expression through profound artistic contributions and her commitment to social justice.
American Women Artists is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to the inspiration, celebration and encouragement of women in the visual arts. It currently has more than 1000 members throughout the United States and Canada.
